healthy living | What I eat in a day!

Whether you're trying to get more healthy, looking for recipe inspiration or just noisy about what other people eat, welcome to my 'healthy living' segment. I have decided to start this as I am trying to adapt a healthier lifestyle and thought I could take you along as inspiration and maybe inspire you at the same time. Please note that I am in no way a nutritional expert so the things listed here will not be 100% good for you, but they will definitely not harm you and provide healthy-ish food options for those of you who are (like me) struggling with the healthy route.

Breakfast
I usually have cereal or porridge for breakfast. Here I opted for porridge as it keeps me full till lunch and tastes so good! I just mixed some almond milk with normal oats and added some cinnamon. Then just put in in the microwave for about 2-3 minutes and add your toppings. I went for strawberries and blueberries but bananas also work great. If you want some extra sweetness, just add some honey or agave nectar.

Lunch
I love salads for lunch so I decided to put a twist on the regular salad. I chopped up red veggies such as red peppers and tomatoes (chillies would also work great), added some pre-cooked sliced chicken and topped it off with some plain greek yogurt. Add spices as you please and voila - you have your super easy lunch salad that you can take wherever you want.

Snacks
Snacking is my life honestly. I really admire people who can go from lunch to dinner without snacking but I certainly can't. One of my favourite options is banana bread, which I make myself using Living the healthy choice's recipe. It's honestly so delicious and way healthier than store bought snacks.

Dinner
Dinner is probably my favourite meal of the day, it just means I get to chat to my family or friends while having delicious, hot food. Since I'm not the best cook, I made some simple tagliatelle (best type of pasta lets be honest) with tomato sauce and a side salad. For the pasta sauce I mixed Napolina chopped tomatoes with some light cream, garlic, fresh cherry tomatoes and lots of spices. The salad dressing was Olive Oil with Balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper. So all in all super easy to make but very tasty.

If you're still hungry throughout the day or want something sweet after dinner, go for fruit as they are healthy and will help you keep full.
I hope you enjoy this type of post, let me know if you want to see more 'healthy living' posts!

Love you lots!

Weekend trip to Exmoor

Last weekend my family and I decided we needed a break from our daily routine, so we went on a little weekend excursion to the beautiful Exmoor (somewhere near Bristol I think... Geography isn't my strength). If you enjoy hiking, the seaside and lots of green around you, you'd love it there. I certainly did (at least for the 2 days we spent there). We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast just outside Exmoor and from there drove to do our hikes, sightseeing and shopping in the tiny little villages that had the sweetest shops ever. It gave me a chance to breath some fresh air and appreciate how stunning England's coasts really are. So as always, are you ready for a flood of photos? Cuz I am...

Starting with a horse... sounds random but there were lots of wild ones around in Exmoor

Now tell me they're not cute!

This horse literally kept staring at me whenever I tried going back into the car, it was kind of freaky.

In action shot haha

View at the beginning of a coastal walk.

I'm scared of heights so this was a bit uncomfortable but the view made up for it.

I had to hike up some mountain for an hour to get this shot (just so you appreciate the effort)

This castle was literally 5 minutes away from where we stayed and it had the greatest garden (see above)

Remind me to never put my feet in a river at England's coast again... I think my feet nearly froze

Aaaand even more hiking (I felt so sporty after the weekend...)

And last but not least, the view that is typical for Exmoor, isn't it beautiful?

I hope you enjoy these diary style posts, let me know in the comments! I'm sorry for not posting for absolutely ages, I just have my exams to my defence. However now there are lots of exciting and different posts up and coming so stay tuned :) Love you lots
